Käppele in Würzburg, Orgelneubau 1991 im Prospekt von Johann Christian Köhler

Die neue Orgel orientiert sich am vorgefundenen Prospekt von Köhler, an dessen Abänderung sich trotz aller anderen Eingriffe niemand gewagt hatte. Die erhaltenen Prospektpfeifen bildeten nicht nur die Mensurengrundlage, sondern gaben gleichzeitig Aufschluß über ­Anordnung und Teilung der Windladen. man fügte sich ­bescheiden den Gegebenheiten, um die Musik der Erbauungszeit in au­thentischer Art wieder­geben zu können. So wurde die Balganlage unter Zuhilfenahme der Mechanik und Pneumatik mit einer Steuerung versehen, die die Bälge zwar mit Wind des elektrischen Gebläses füllt, ­danach jedoch diese Wind­zufuhr abstellt und die Windabgabe an die Orgel möglich macht. Ebenfalls kann der Wind von Hand geschöpft werden. diese Orgel ist ein Instrument des 20. Jahrhunderts, welches auch von Orgelbauern des 18. Jahrhunderts so hätte ­erstellt werden können.

This new organ was built around a recovered Köhler front, though there were other ­attempts at the construction of parts of this organ, no one trusted themselves with the complete restoration. The ­organ front not only were the basis for the scale of the organ, but provided at the same time the solution for the positioning and division of the windchest. Logically we used what was provided, so the music could be authentically formed as in the „Devotional Period“. The ­bellow unit provides the pneumatic pressure from mech­anical input. The bellows is ­initially filled via an electric blower which is afterward turned off when the organ can provide itself with enough wind. So even though this is an instrument of the 20th ­century, it could have been constructed by the organ builders of the 18th century.
